Game Cameras
This is a page I setup to post the pictures from my motion activated game cameras
Our dog and little deer playing in the woods and the dog letting the deer try to nurse, very cute.
My first camera was a 4 megapixal Moultrie I40 Game Camera. Note that the pictures have a stamp on the bottom that shows the temp, moon phase, date and time and camera ID.

I seem to like the Moultrie I-40 game camera, the pictures I have so far seem to be pretty clear for the conditions they were taken in. Note that the quality of the pictures are better than what I posted here because I shrunk them down to post them on the web. Most the pictures I've got so far have been a night and the infared flash seems to work very good. I have several pictures of deer that I haven't posted here but they're pretty good also. The camera is pretty easy to setup and use, the only problem I have is the memory card is in a very bad place and is hard for me to get in and out with my big fingers. The camera has a laser that makes aiming the camera very easy. The camera also takes video, I'm not real satisfied with the quality of the video even on the highest setting but all my videos so far have been at night so I'm not sure how good they would be in the daytime.
Update: I've had problems with my Moultrie Camera and after less than one year it's no longer taking pictures. It worked good and took nice pictures until it just stopped taking pictures one day and never worked again. I don't recommend this camera, they're serveral better camera available now for the same price or less.
DLC Covert II Assassin
I just bought a new 5 MP camera, a DLC Covert II Assassin. I love the way this camera works, it is very small and user friendly. You must first plug in a remote control to change the camera settings but once this is done, you unplug the remote and all you need to do from then on is to flip a switch to ON and you're ready to go, you never need the remote again unless you need to change some of the camera settings. The Assassin Camera suppose to run about 6 months on 8 AA batteries and will also run on just 4 AA batteries, the remote control has no batteries and just runs off the camera batteries when it's plugged ito the camera. The camera takes infaRed pictures at night and is suppose to have a 40 ft. range at night. I like where the SD card is, it's easy to remove, even with my big fingers. This camera comes with a 2gb SD card and is the only camera I've bought that came with a card. I also like the latches on the door, they are easy to use and seem very sturdy. The camera case seems tuff, has a nice camo pattern and just feels high quality. The camera has a simple strap to connect it to the tree but also has a threaded connector under the bottom so you can use a tripod or swivel mount. I made a swivel mount from stuff I bought at Walmart for about 2 dollars. I have this camera in the woods over a mineral block now and just waiting to see how the pictures look. I paid $219.00 for the camera at Backwoods Outdoors in Albany Ga. I'll be posting pictures and a better review of the Covert II Assassin after I see some of the pictures and make sure I don't have any problems.

Swivel Camera Mount I built from a couple of L shaped brackets from Walmart and two 1/4" bolts. 4 brackets cost $1.99. I painted the chrome plated brackets flat brown. | Here's my Covert Assassin mounted to a tree with the home made Mount |
Bushnell Trail Sentry
I also bought a Bushnell 5MP Trial Sentry, I've had it in the woods for a week with only three picture, one of Me leaving, one of Me returning and one of nothing but the woods. I had the camera in the same place that I used to have the Moultrie Camera that was taking about 100 pictures a week. I'm not sure what the problem is, I've been busy lately and haven't had time to check out the problem. Anouther very big problem with this camera is it will only take 1 gb SD cards, 1 gb cards are very hard to find now-a-days. I'll post some pictures from this camera if I ever get any.

Moultrie Game Camera Pictures
Picture of a 8 point buck on the back side of my property in Pine Cliff Georgia. The buck is looking at a small pile of apple pellets on the ground but he didn't eat any of the pellets. The camera took three pictures about 15 seconds apart but this is the only one with the buck in it.

This is my first picture of a deer with my new game camera. It was very foggy this morning so the picture is not real clear but it looks like a young buck urinating in the scrape that I had the camera pointed at. You can see that it has a rack but I can't tell how many points it has because of the fog. The pictures from this camera are usually very clear, even at night. I was suppose to be hunting this spot at this time but I had been working for 24 hours and over slept. I set the camera up on 12/24/08 at 4:00 p.m. and you can see by the time stamp that I got this picture less than 17 hours later. It also caught a doe in this same spot earlier this morning at 6:05 a.m. The camera was setup in the woods at the back of a large pecan grove about a 1/4 mile from my home pointing at a deer scrape I found at the back of the pecan grove.
Here's a picture of a Red Fox drinking out of a water bowl I had put out for him. The picture was taken about 10 feet from my back door after midnight using the infared flash. I also put out some vienna sausages for him from time to time. I have picture of a least two different foxes and several videos of them. The foxs comes through my yard about 15 times per night to get some water and look for food. They seem to be getting somewhat tame, sometimes only running away about 30 feet and sitting there watching me when I come outside.

Here's the same fox looking at the camera. This picture was taken on the same night as the one above but the camera was moved closer, about 5 feet away from the food. This was the third picture of a three shot sequence taken 15 seconds apart, this is the only picture where the fox is looking at the camera. I was also watching it on my home security camera and even though the fox did look at the game camera, it didn't seem to scare him at all.

This is a picture of a different fox taken 3 minutes after the one above. It has a strange ring of missing hair on it's tail. I think they may be a male and female because both foxes travel together alot. I'm hoping they will have some babies soon so I can get some picture of them.

.

Here's a couple pictures of some does about 200 yards behind my home. The camera was in the woods for 3 days and took 45 pictures of deer and 60 other pictures of foxes, squirrels, rabbits and a large field mouse that's eating the salt block. I also got several pictures of something that I can't figure out what it is. All the deer were does and all the deer pictures were taken between 10:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. using the infared flash. The deer are coming to the salt block you see on the ground in front of the deer
